Hydrate! - Water can make a huge difference in the health of your skin. By making water your first beverage of choice when you wake up, you can kick start your bodies essential functions. Hydration is the root of skin conditions like dry irritated skin (eczema, psoriasis etc.). Chronically dry skin can lead to premature aging and wrinkles. Water flushes toxins and other vitamins and minerals that the body was not able to use. If we don't continue to give our bodies the hydration it needs, some of the toxins that we ingest daily can manifest outwardly in the form of acne, clogged pores and more.
Get Rest! - According to the CDC most adults should be getting 7 hours of sleep minimally. Sleep is such a rare commodity with today's hustle mentality. However, rest plays an integral role in how we recover from day- to- day stressors. Not to mention the dark circles that become more prevalent when you aren't getting adequate rest. Studies show that individuals who get more rest have firmer, younger looking skin. Sleep allows for the body to heal and rejuvenate itself from everyday wear and tear. Prioritize your rest this year!
Exercise more- Many people make resolutions to get in the gym more. While getting more active in the gym can improve your overall physical fitness, it also has a positive impact on the skin. Exercise increases blood flow which can increase cell turnover and give a more healthy glow. Sweat during exercise is also a great way to shed toxins from your body. Just be sure to wash your skin as soon as you are done working out to ensure sweat doesn't clog your pores!
Stress Less- Finding ways to relax and stress less can really improve the overall appearance of your skin including fine lines and wrinkles. As we know stress can manifest in many ways and further any preexisting health conditions. Stress may appear in your skin if you are not mindful of what triggers your stress levels.
